Collinsville Community Unit School District #10 announces Chelsea Clark as District Pre-K Coordinator. The Collinsville Community Unit School District #10 Board of Education has approved Caseyville Elementary School Principal Chelsea Clark to transfer to the position of district Pre-K coordinator beginning July 2026.

Clark will be responsible for the district’s pre-kindergarten and early childhood programs starting in the 2026-27 school year.  She will replace current Pre-K coordinator Christine Coleman who is retiring at the end of the 2025-26 school year.

"Mrs. Clark is highly organized and deeply committed to our students and community. Her leadership will ensure our 3- and 4-year-old learners begin their academic journey on the right track as she oversees the Pre-K grant and builds strong family connections." said Superintendent Dr. Mark B. Skertich. "We are certain the Unit 10 Pre-K program will continue to expand and succeed under Mrs. Clark’s direction."

Clark is looking forward to this new opportunity to grow professionally.  “I absolutely LOVE Caseyville Elementary,” she says, “but I am excited to work out of multiple buildings within the district and support our youngest learners.”

A 2003 graduate of Collinsville High School, Clark earned a bachelor’s degree in early childhood and early childhood special education from St. Louis University, and a master’s degree in education administration from Lindenwood University. She later earned special education director and superintendent endorsements from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.

She began her career in 2008 as a special education teacher in the Fort Zumwalt (MO) school district. She became a special education teacher in Highland (IL) Community Unit School District #5 in 2013.  She returned to her Collinsville roots in 2014 as a special education teacher and became principal of Caseyville Elementary School in 2018.

Clark believes education is most effective when it is inclusive, student-centered and grounded in a commitment to meeting the diverse needs of all learners.

“With a foundation in early childhood and special education, I believe every child deserves access to a supportive environment where their individual strengths are recognized and nurtured,” says Clark.  “Early learning experiences are critical in shaping not only academic success, but also social-emotional development, and educators play a vital role in fostering both.”

“Mrs. Clark’s passion for early childhood education and her collaborative leadership style make her an excellent choice for this role,” said Curriculum Director LaToya Berry-Coleman. “ I am confident in her ability to positively impact our Pre-K programs and contribute to the continued success of our district.”

“My experience in educational leadership reinforces the importance of collaboration among teachers, families and communities to create systems that support equitable outcomes. Effective schools are built on strong relationships, high expectations and a shared vision that prioritizes student growth and well-being,” adds Clark. “I am proud to help prepare the future generation of Kahoks for success in their educational journey.”

Chelsea Clark resides in Collinsville with her husband, Chris, and their two daughters, Annie & Emerson. She enjoys traveling, spending time with family, horses and running slowly.  Outside of school, she says spends time “Ubering” her daughters to their appointments and activities.
